Svatoš Rocks

Get on your bike or set out on foot through the stunning canyon of the Ohře River. Between Karlovy Vary and Loket rise monumental granite towers, which according to legend represent the petrified wedding procession of the unfaithful Jan Svatoš. The rock city, admired by romantics and even Sigmund Freud himself, offers amazing scenery, a suspension footbridge over the river, and pleasant facilities of excursion restaurants. The route along the cycle path by the river is easy, leads along flat terrain, and you can manage it easily even with children.

SOOS National Nature Reserve

Set out on a journey to prehistoric times in a unique reserve nicknamed the Czech Yellowstone. Just a short distance from Františkovy Lázně, you'll step onto wooden walkways leading through a bizarre lunar landscape, where carbon dioxide hisses from the ground and cold mud bubbles in so-called mofettes. You'll see rare salt-loving plants and feel the power of the earth literally under your feet. Part of the complex is also a geopark, a museum with life-size dinosaur models, and an animal rescue station. An exotic experience that will leave a deep impression on children and adults alike.

Michal Natural Swimming Lake

Lake Michal, often called the Sokolov Sea, boasts some of the cleanest water in the country and modern facilities for the whole family.
